French Phrase #4

l'arbre ne tombe pas du premier coup
(persistence! persistence!)

From Les Bons Mots: Translated as "the tree does not fall at the first blow," telling us that we have to be prepared to work hard to gain any desired end.

Persistence! Quote Fest 2008 continues: “Knowing trees, I understand the meaning of patience. Knowing grass, I can appreciate persistence.” Hal Borland.

Trees grow deeper and taller simultaneously. And, B, trees are growing even when they seem to be standing still. I so admire your persistence. :-)
